A bulk mailing in Spotler Mail+ is sent to an entire audience at one single moment. An automation message, on the other hand, is sent automatically and 1-to-1 through the Automations module as soon as a contact reaches a predefined trigger. For example, a birthday date or a completed sign-up form.
With a bulk mailing, you determine the send moment: you send the same message at the same time to everyone in your audience.
With an automation message, the send moment is determined by the trigger: the message is sent automatically as soon as the contact meets the configured trigger. For example, reaching a birthday or completing a sign-up form. This way, the contact receives relevant content at the right moment.
| Characteristic | Bulk mailing | Automation message |
| Recipient experience | Everyone in the audience receives the same general message. | Personalized to the situation of the individual contact. |
| Timing | You plan and determine the send moment yourself in advance, so you can respond to current events. Think of newsletters, discount campaigns such as Black Friday, or invitations for events and webinars. | The message is sent automatically as soon as the contact reaches the configured trigger, for example a birthday date or a completed sign-up form. |
| Conversion | Generally lower, because the message is not tailored to the moment or situation of the individual recipient. | Generally higher, because the message matches the relevance and timing for that specific contact. |
