How can I restart an automation for a contact or multiple contacts?

If you see in a report that contacts have the status Waiting and no longer continue through the Automation, there is a way to start an automation again for these contacts. The description below is based on an automation consisting of a single step.

If you want to re-trigger contacts in different steps, please follow the procedure below for each step and create a new automation from the selected step onwards. Feel free to contact support if you need help with this. 

Steps

  1. Go to the Publisher in the Automations module.
  2. Retrieve the contacts you want to trigger again in an automation from the report of the published automation. You open the report by right-clicking and then clicking Report.

  3. In the report, click on the step that has stopped.

  4. Then, in the left column Properties you will see a heading Actions. Click the export button there.

  5. An Excel file will be generated. You will import this as a static list. 
    Make sure you filter out the contacts with the status Done from your export and therefore do not import them.
  6. After importing the list, create a new automation.
  7. In the new automation, use the trigger: Specific date.

  8. In the trigger filter, select the static list you just imported.

  9. You will then have an automation that runs on the date and time you set, for the contacts in your list.
