Static lists with unsubscribe packages

What changed?

Static lists can now be used directly together with unsubscribe packages that are based on permissions. Previously, this required converting a static list into a dynamic list first. Spotler Mail+ now automatically filters out contacts from a static list who do not have the required permission before sending.

Who is this relevant for?

This is relevant for anyone who sends mailings to a fixed, one-time group of contacts using a static list, while also using an unsubscribe package based on permissions.

Why it matters

This removes an extra setup step from the mailing workflow. You no longer need to convert a static list into a dynamic list to respect contact permissions during sending.

Action

No action required. For more information, see New import and Permissions and Unsubscribe packages.

Email editor design and usability improvements

What changed?

The email editor received several design and usability improvements. Buttons in the Brand Manager now support font weight and text transform options, so applying your brand automatically gives every button the correct typography.

Column spacing can now be set up to 50px, with free adjustment instead of fixed 5px increments. Text and heading elements now have a corner radius setting, so you can match them to other rounded elements like buttons or images. Finally, the "OK" button in the Brand Manager has been renamed to "Save", and a confirmation dialog now appears if you try to close the Brand Manager with unsaved changes.

Who is this relevant for?

This is relevant for anyone who designs emails or manages brand guidelines in the Spotler Mail+ email editor.

Why it matters

These changes give you more precise control over your email design and reduce the risk of losing unsaved work in the Brand Manager.

Action

No action required. For more information, see Brand manager (editor Messages), Structures: rows, Text element, and Heading element.

Full release notes

New features and improvements

  • Static lists with unsubscribe packages: see Static lists with unsubscribe packages above for the full explanation.
  • Brand Manager button styling: buttons in the Brand Manager now support font weight and text transform (such as all-caps) options. See Email editor design and usability improvements above.
  • Column spacing: the maximum column spacing has been increased to 50px, and the fixed 5px increments have been removed, allowing for precise adjustments such as exactly 36px.
  • Corner radius on text and headings: text and heading elements now have a corner radius setting, so they can match other rounded elements like buttons or images.
  • Save button and unsaved changes warning: the "OK" button in the Brand Manager has been renamed to "Save", and a confirmation dialog now appears if you try to close the Brand Manager with unsaved changes.
  • YouTube short links: YouTube short links (youtu.be format) are now supported in the email editor. Previously, these links were rejected by validation and had to be converted to the full YouTube URL first.

Deliverability

  • Message-ID: the Message-ID header used when sending emails now uses your sending domain instead of an IP address, improving compatibility with spam filters. This is a technical, informational change and does not require any action.

Bug fixes

  • Automation editor: fixed an issue affecting the automation editor.
  • Link target: fixed an issue with setting link targets.
  • Template dropdown: fixed an issue in the template selection dropdown.
  • Email editor buttons: fixed incorrect button behavior in the email editor.
  • RSS images: RSS images now correctly link to the source article, and their alt text uses the item's title, instead of linking to the image file with the image URL as alt text.
  • Brand color overrides: manual color overrides you apply in a message now persist correctly after saving and reopening it.
  • Template save location: saving over an existing template now correctly defaults to the "Saved" tab, instead of the "General templates" tab.
  • Product order: the order of products in the sidebar and on the canvas is now kept in sync, so products no longer appear in a different order or get scrambled when reordered.
  • Stock image editing: editing a stock image a second time with Pixie no longer creates a duplicate library entry; edits are now correctly saved to the same entry.
  • Auto-export timestamp: fixed an issue with the automatic export timestamp. If you were affected by this issue, the previous behavior remains available as a fallback option.
