Open ratio

Open ratio refers to how well your email is being opened. After approximately two weeks, you get a representative view of this mailing statistic. Of course, an email can still be opened afterward, but our experience is that most contacts open the email within two weeks if they find it interesting.

More information about how your emails are opened can be found in your mailing reports.

Just open the report of your mailing via the overview in the Mailings module.

When you are in the report, you'll see various bar charts under Effectiveness. For example, you’ll see the Unique opens bar chart. Between the Accepted emails and Unique opens bars, you'll see the abbreviation ORC. This stands for Open Ratio Confirmed. You calculate the ORC by dividing the number of unique opens by the number of accepted emails and multiplying by 100%.

In the example below, the ORC is 50%. This means that of the number of emails delivered, 50% were opened. The 49.9% below is the benchmark for your own average ORC.
