How does Spotler keep the ideas forum up to date?

To keep the Ideas Forum in Spotler Mail+ clear and up to date, we regularly review submissions to make sure each idea is understandable and actionable. On this page you'll find how we maintain the quality of the forum and what can happen to ideas that don’t meet our criteria.

On this page you have the following options:

Limited lifetime of ideas with status Needs review

Every new idea posted in the forum is given the status Needs review by default. Learn more about all statuses in this article.

After submission, a Spotler team member checks whether your idea is clearly described. If the idea is immediately clear, its status is changed to Reviewed.

If the idea is unclear, a Spotler team member will leave a comment asking for clarification. You’ll receive an email notification when this happens. You can reply directly in the comment thread to provide more information.

If we don’t receive a response within one month, the idea may be removed. Here's an example of an unclear submitted idea:

Anyone can respond to Spotler’s questions, whether it’s the original author or another Spotler user. As long as the explanation is clear, we’ll update the idea accordingly. If both the original author and others reply, the author’s clarification will take priority.

If no one responds, Spotler may add an interpretation of the idea based on the available information. If that’s not possible, the idea may be deleted.

Merging similar ideas

If your idea is very similar to one that already exists, Spotler may merge it with the original. The votes from both ideas are combined to ensure support isn't split across duplicates.

Ideas with zero votes

Every idea automatically gets one vote from the person who submitted it. If that person removes their vote and the idea drops to zero votes, Spotler may remove it to keep the forum relevant and clean.

Incomplete ideas

In exceptional cases, Spotler may remove an idea immediately if it’s incomplete or too unclear to evaluate. Examples include:

  • The idea only contains a general title without any description
  • The idea is written in a language that isn’t supported
  • The idea is written in a way that may be offensive or inappropriate

Was your idea removed?

If your idea was removed for one of the reasons above, you're welcome to submit it again. Be sure to reword it clearly and watch for any comments or questions from Spotler. You’ll receive an email notification when we respond. Tips for writing a strong and complete idea are available in this article.
