Logging into Spotler with your username and password can be made even more secure. If the combination of password and user name is stolen or hacked, an unauthorized person could gain access to all personal data in Spotler. By securing your account with the two-factor authentication, you can keep those persons out, even if they have your password. If you use two-factor authentication, you secure your account with both your username, password, and an extra verification code. This unique verification code is generated by an app on your smartphone. After a few seconds, the app refreshes and new codes are generated. This way, you are always assured of a unique code and your Spotler account will remain well-protected.
Getting started
You can enable the two-factor authentication in your profile menu, under the tab Security.
This process is really easy. You can get this additional layer of security on your Spotler account in just two steps:

In My profile you can see two tabs: Profile and Security. You will find the two-factor authentication under the tab Security.
As you can see, the two-factor authentication is still disabled. Click on the Enable button to enable the verification code. The Change two-factor authentication window will pop up, asking if you want to enable the two-factor authentication.
Once you click on Ok, the two-factor authentication is enabled in your Spotler account.
The next time you are logging in, you will first have to enter an extra verification code before you can access your account. This code is generated by an authenticator app on your smartphone. Search for "Authenticator" in the App store or Google Play and install one of the many authenticator apps on your smartphone. All apps offered in the App store or Google Play are suitable to use. All you have to do once you've installed the app, is activate the two-factor authentication for your Spotler account. After the code has been scanned, the app on your smartphone is authorized for the two-factor authentication in Spotler. Are you unable to scan the QR code? Then click on Can't scan the code? and a handy key will appear.
Entering the verification code
Your app is now authorized for logging in to your Spotler account with the two-factor authentication. Next, select Spotler in your authenticator app and a verification code will be shown on your smartphone. This code will only be visible for a short time, it is refreshed after a few seconds.
