Privacy rights

Every person in your database has privacy rights. With the coming of the GDPR, these have been expanded. You - as controller - are required to safeguard these rights. This includes the right to information, erasure, objection and rectification. If a person contacts your organization to exercise of one of their rights, you are required to respond to carry out their wishes.

Here, you see the 6 privacy rights that you might encounter in your email marketing activities:

  • Right to be forgotten
  • Right of information
  • Right of access
  • Right of rectification
  • Right to object
  • Right to object to profiling

This page will inform you about the various rights and which actions you must take. There is one concrete action that you can take within this tab, this relates to the Right to be forgotten.

Right to be forgotten

If a contact wants themselves to be removed from the database with all associated personal data, you are obliged to do this. You can remove them from the database by entering the relevant email address and pressing the button Delete all personal data. Before the action is finalized, you will see a confirmation notification.

If you confirm, the contact will be removed/anonymized. Anonymization allows the results of the mailing reports to be retained. This means that you will still be able to see that there have been opens and clicks, but not by whom they were made.
