You can use both the old messages editor as the new editor to make parts of your message dynamic. In the old editor, this works per content block and in the new editor this is possible on different levels, such as per row and per section.
New messages editor
In the new message editor you can make multiple parts of your message dynamic, namely sections and rows. On this page you will find an explanation of the differences between the two. You can determine per row and column whether this should be dynamic. You do this by clicking on the section/row and going to the Settings tab in the left menu.
- Next, click on Custom over at Conditions.
- Two options appear: Interests or Dynamic lists. In this case, choose Dynamic list.
- You now see your dynamic lists shown under Available items. Select which dynamic list you want to link to this content block and click on Ok.
- Now you will see a symbol next to Section in the top left of the structure, meaning it is dynamic content. Only the recipients who are in this specific dynamic list will get to see this section or row.
This option is only available for Automation or eCommerce.

Old messages editor
- Click on the white checkbox next to the block title. Change the content block from Default block to an Optional block.
- New options appear: Interests or a Dynamic List. In this case, choose Dynamic list.
- When you check the Dynamic list option, you will see your dynamic lists appear below it. Select which dynamic list you want to link to the content block and click OK.
- You will now see a green dot in the title bar and to which target group the content block is linked.
Only the recipients who fall into this specific dynamic list will see this content block.
This option is only available for Automation or eCommerce.
