User roles in Spotler Mail+

In Spotler Mail+ every user has a role. Your role determines what you can see and do in the account. Most organizations use three main roles:

  • Marketeer: full access for day-to-day campaign work
  • Content Marketeer: works on content with limited access to contact data
  • Owner: manages the account, billing and users

Individual permissions

You cannot switch individual permissions on or off per user. You choose the role that best matches what someone needs to do.

What are user roles?

A user role is the set of responsibilities and permissions assigned to a person in Spotler Mail+. Each role has predefined rights. You cannot enable or disable individual permissions per user. If a user needs more rights, their role has to be changed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I customize permissions per user?

No. You cannot enable or disable individual permissions per user. Instead, you assign one of the predefined roles (Owner, Marketeer or Content Marketeer), each with its own set of rights.

Why do I not see certain settings as a Marketeer?

Some advanced account, billing and integration settings are only available to the Owner. If you are a Marketeer and do not see a specific menu item or tab, it is likely Owner-only. Contact your Owner if you need changes there.

Which role should I give a new colleague?

Give Owner to the person responsible for contract, billing and user management (only one per account).
Give Marketeer to colleagues who need full access to messages, automations, contacts and reports.
Give Content Marketeer to colleagues who mainly work on content and should have limited access to contact data.

Who manages corporate or partner roles?

Corporate and partner roles (such as Corporate in subaccount, Agency or VAR Partner) are set up when your account and partner contract are configured. As an end user, you usually do not need to change these roles yourself.
