The editor of the Messages module looks like this:
The screen is structured as follows:
- The edit menu in the header. You see standard functionalities to save your message, view it, undo or redo actions and a folder with templates.
- Elements, Content, Structures and General on the left side of the screen. You need these parts to compose a message.
- The canvas with a desktop icon and a mobile icon on the right. This is where you place your content for your post.
1. The edit menu in the header
The edit menu in the header looks like this:
Button | Functie |
Save Your message will be saved automatically, but the safest way is to save your message every now and then. This way you build up multiple versions of your message. |
|
View This function opens a preview of your message. See how your message will look on desktop, mobile or tablet. Are you going to A/B test elements in your newsletter? Then you can see in the example what the different variants look like. |
|
Undo Does a change turn out differently than expected? Use this function to undo the change. |
|
Redo Undone too much? Then you can easily perform an action again. |
|
Web analytics To also follow your readers on your website, an integration with Google Analytics is available in Spotler. This way you can see exactly what a reader has done on your website as a result of a click in an e-mail message. Press the icon and enter the default Google Analytics values, such as medium, source, name, content and word. All links then receive these values. It is possible to change this per link. When creating a link you will see a second tab Web analytics. For a distinction in your Google Analytics, you adjust the campaign word per link.

|
SPML Center Special code is used to format your message. We call this SPML. When sending the message, the SPML code is converted to HTML code. In the SPML Center you will see the SPML code. |
|
Templates You can compose a message from a blank page, but it is also possible to work with templates for your message layout. When multiple templates are available in your account, e.g. different languages or brands, it is possible to load another template with this icon. Have you already created content and are you considering that you still want this in a different template? No problem, your content will be preserved. |

2. Elements, Content, Structures and General
On the left side of your screen you will see the parts you need to compose your message. Depending on what you select, you will see the options that belong to these components:
- Elements: here you will find various elements to compose your message, such as: header, text, image, button and more.
- Content: here you will find saved blocks. You can save blocks for your message yourself or maybe you have something developed by us.
- Structures: with a structure you determine the structure of your newsletter. The structure of a message consists of rows and sections.
- General: determine the general options for your message, such as width and text color.
